Our Story

Temple & Co. is a boutique firm providing accounting, bookkeeping, and taxation services for businesses and entrepreneurs. Our team includes three generations of accountants. Numbers are in our blood.

Harry Temple started the family business in 1952.  A family man whose love for his profession was a bi-product of the relationships he made with every client along the way.  Harry believed that like any business; relationships are only as strong as their foundation.  Honesty, loyalty, trust and duty are the cornerstones of our family’s practice. 

Harry’s relationships extended the firm’s service to a range of businesses and individuals across a variety of industries. The automotive, food, entertainment, and retail sectors were of interest to Harry.  Clients whose businesses have proven sustainable and remain valued clients till today.

Harry’s son, Neal, obtained his CA designation in 1981.  Like his father, clients were drawn to his friendly disposition and ability to make every client feel as if they were his only one.  Neal’s work ethic, attention to detail, sense of responsibility and willingness to talk things through are the pillars that sit atop the foundation laid before him. Neal’s ability to grow the business; and expand its client base into professional services, communications, construction, and the real estate verticals, rounded out the practice nicely. 

Sixty years on and the practise can extend its expertise; regardless of business sector; a beneficial advantage to our imaginative clientele.

Harry & Neal represent a time when brick and mortar was the gold standard.  Building a family business that has sustained itself for over sixty years and shows no sign of letting up.

Neal’s daughter Andrea Benaim obtained her CA designation and joined the firm in 2010.  Like her father, and grandfather, the idea of being a trusted advisor appealed to her.  Andrea’s sense of responsibility, authenticity, reliability and straight-forwardness, are representative of her modern approach to accounting.  Figuratively speaking; Andrea’s contribution is representative of a solar paneled roof that sits atop the pillars that enjoy rock solid footings.

Establishing a paperless office, web presence and scaling by way of providing an office “anywhere” for the practice’s employees and consultants has mitigated costs, improved work/life balance and meets clients’ needs for accessibility and convenience with ease.

While Andrea’s modern approach may seem like a rapid departure from the pencil and graph paper that Harry was accustomed too; its completely consistent with the practice’s methods over the years.
